Pet Spay/Neuter Program
The Willowick Pet Food Pantry provides vouchers for FREE spay/neuter services for cats performed at PetFix in Euclid. The Pantry will pay PetFix $35 towards the cost of the spay/neuter of dogs. The owner must pay any cost in excess of $35 for their dog's procedure. The Pantry will, however, also pay for a rabies vaccine if needed. A maximum of 2 pets per household may obtain this service. To obtain a voucher, please come to the pet food distribution at Willow Praise Church on the 4th Saturday of the month, between 9 and 11am. You must provide your photo ID and proof that you are receiving government assistance to obtain a voucher.
Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Program
This program is provided to assist INDIVIDUALS who wish to spay or neuter feral cats near there home. A maximum of 3 feral cats may be spayed/neutered. This includes surgery, rabies shot and ear tip, performed at PetFix in Euclid. To obtain voucher(s), please come to the pet food distribution at Willow Praise Church on the 4th Saturday of the month, between 9 and 11am. **Persons associated with TNR/shelter/rescue whereby an organization would have paid for the service DO NOT QUALIFY.
Veterans' Program
The Pantry will pay the adoption fee, up to $200, for one companion dog or cat for veterans, with the following stipulations:
Maximum of 10 companion pet adoptions will be awarded per year.
Adoptions must be through an established rescue/shelter.
Proof of service is required. Form DD214 would qualify as proof of service.
This program is available to residents of Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula Counties. Surviving spouses qualify for the program.
Adoption must be made within 3 months of being notified that you have been selected.
There is no expiration date for this program, however, the Pantry reserves the right to cancel this program at any time.

Medical Fund
The Willowick Pet Food Pantry Medical Fund will cover $75 for an office visit needed by your cat or dog due to illness. We will pay another $75 should your pet need surgery. The maximum distribution is $150 per pet. Payment will be made directly to the animal hospital. Routine exams and shots (including rabies shots, spay/neuter surgeries, and any other costs) ARE NOT COVERED. We do not require proof of income, however, we hope that only those truly in need will apply.
Forever In My Heart
Forever In My Heart is a program which helps pet parents financially cover the costs associated with helping their pet cross the Rainbow Bridge. Should you need assistance, please send an email to [email protected] with the following details:
Name and phone number of the veterinarian who will perform the service
Your full name
Name of your pet
Photo of your pet
We will contact your veterinarian to verify that the pet is in fact terminally ill and requires assistance crossing the bridge. Any other reason for euthanasia does not qualify. You must also be receiving government assistance, or be having significant financial difficulty to qualify. The maximum amount contributed by the pantry is $75 and will be paid directly to the veterinarian. No exceptions.
Dick Goddard Memorial Educational Fund
Goals:
To better educate the public on how to care for pets while at the same time reducing the population of potential pets residing in shelters. This gives them a better opportunity to live a happy, healthy life.
Assist rescues with achieving a greater number of adoptions.
Who Qualifies:
The program is open to all (only one individual per household) who is adopting dog(s) or cat(s) for the first time from a qualified shelter or rescue. The shelter or rescue must be a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. National/international shelters and/or rescues are excluded from participation in this program.
Individuals who adopt senior dog(s) or cat(s) do NOT need to be first time adopters and will receive and additional incentive; a $25 gift card to the pet store of their choice.
Only one adoption per year qualifies for the Educational Memorial Fund.
The Program will begin September 1, 2020. Those who adopted during the month of August 2020 qualify to participate in the program as well. A certificate of completion will be mailed to participants upon completion.
